At River Heights Lutheran Church, the most important thing that happens here is when God comes to us on Sunday morning through the reading and preaching of his word, baptism, and distributing of the Lord’s Supper. Alongside this, River Heights looks to offer opportunities to its members so they may grow in the faith and have opportunities to put their faith in action by serving others.

Bible Study:

Beginning the Sunday after Labor Day and Concluding the Sunday before Memorial Day, River Heights holds Bible study on Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. The subjects vary from looking in depth at specific books of the bible, learning about the history of the church, or studying specific topics that Scripture addresses.

Sunday School:

River Heights understands that learning about God’s word is a lifelong endeavor. In our Sunday School our children have God’s word brought to them with lessons that are specified to their learning capabilities. Our Sunday School meets at the same time our Bible study is held (9:00 Sunday mornings).

Vacation Bible School:

Each summer we offer a four-day long bible camp called V.B.S. This Bible camp is open to any and all children who would like to attend. The theme each year is different but the purpose is the same: teach the children about Jesus. Alongside this central goal, we also offer play-time, sports, crafts, snacks, and music.

Young Adult Bible Studies:

The young adult years of a Christian’s life are crucial in the development of their faith. Unfortunately, many of our secular institutions and the world at large look to undermine the Christian’s faith during these years. In hopes to address this issue, River Heights Lutheran Church has a Young Adult Bible Study which meets every other week during the school year. The topics vary but the main focus is to address the particular challenges that affect our students at UND, UM Crookston, and other young adults in our area. the Bible Study usually starts off with a meal, and we then move onto our Bible study afterwards.
